Socep Terminal
SOCEP terminal is the oldest one in the port of Constantza and up-to-date operated the second in terms of volume of containers going in/out. Its main facilities are:
- 2 operating berths of 225 meters each, with water depth of 13 meters
- 3 gantry cranes with lifting capacity between 37.6/40.6 mt and a productivity of 15 movements/hour each
- 2 transtainers with lifting capacity of 32 mt and a productivity of 20 movements/hour each
- top lifters/forklifts with lifting capacity between 5.9/45 mt
- lorryes with payload of 40 mt
- storage open area : 141.600 sqm
- storage capacity : 7000 units on 3 hight stacks and 80 reefer containers
- operating capacity/year : 200.000 teus
UMEX Terminal
UMEX, traditionally a project cargo operator, became the second container operator in Constantza North Port and, although being less experienced, it productivity increased on monthly basis.
Main facilities are:
- 2 operating berths of about 220 meters each, with water depth of 10.6 meters
- 1 mobile crane (LIEBHER) with automatic spreder with lifting capacity of 125 mt and a productivity of 11 movements/hour
- 2 gantry cranes with lifting capacity of 40 mt and a productivity of 10 movements/hour each
- 4 toplifters with a lifting capacity between 10/40 mt
- lorryes with payload of 35 mt
- storage open area : 20.000 sqm
- operating capacity/year : 150.000 teus
APM Romania Terminal
The APM Constantza Terminal is the first terminal project of its kind in the Eastern European region of the A.P. Moller Group. Main facilities are:
- quay length of 238 meters with water depth of 12.5 meters
- 1 crane with lifting capacity of 40 mt and a productivity of 15 movements/hour
- storage area of 27.500 sqm
- operating capacity: 20.000 teus
Constanta South Container Terminal
CSCT terminal in the newest and most modern container terminal in the whole Black Sea area and started its operations as from April 16th 2004. All major carriers are taking benefit of its modern structure (MSC, NORASIA, HAPAG LLOYD, ZIM, CSCL, SENATOR, NYK, KLINE)
- The largest container terminal in the Black Sea area
- A potential terminal for transit traffic on the Danube
- A logistic zone in the Port of Constantza
Terminal used to have 3 stages of development that were rushed due to success that out paced initial expectations:
- First stage > the capacity is of 325,000 TEU (present status)
- Second stage > the capacity will be increased up to 405,000 TEU by 2009
- Third stage > further development up to 800,000-1,000,000 TEU is foreseen after 2014-2015.
Pier II S of South Port is an existing pier of a water depth of 14.5m and a pier length of 1,800 m together with a back-port area of already reclaimed yard of approximately 90 ha. But, no yard improvements or surface pavement have been performed for the yard preparation. Until now there have been completed large volumes of infrastructure works such as breakwaters, docking quays, reclamation, dredging etc.
